Tatler Jack East Region Minor League

Kilgarvan /Templenoe/ Tousist 1-15 Firies 0-6

Firies travelled to Kilgarvan to take on Kilgarvan /Templenoe/ Tousist in round 2 of the Tatler Jack East Region Minor league division 1. The home side played with the wind in the first half and took a 1-8 to 0-3 points lead thanks to Dylan OConnor 0-3 and Micheal McCarthy 1-2.
Firies played with the advantage of the wind in the second half and tried hard and notched up 5 points – Kevin Murphy 0-3 and Liam Brosnan 0-2. However, the Kilgarvan/Tousist/Templenoe team were stronger all over and finished the game 1-15 to 0-6 winners. Best for the home side were Sean Casey, Liam Twomey, Gearid Fennessy, Chris Creedon, Dylan OConnor and Micheal McCarthy. Best for Firies were Cian OCallaghan, Shane Kennedy, Liam Brosnan and Kevin Murphy.

Under 8/Under 10 Go Games

East Kerry/Kenmare U8/U10 Go Games were completed during the week. The standard of football was excellent with all teams showing fantastic skill levels. Teams showed great improvement during the blitzes with all club coaches delighted with the efforts of all players during the games. Thanks to all clubs for assisting Vince Cooper East Kerry/ Kenmare GDA in running the blitz programme. St Brendans College students provided great support to all host clubs on blitz days.

 

Best of Luck South Kerry

Best of luck to all Kerry South management and players taking part in Munster competitions next week. Teams have prepared well with Kerry South U14 team going to Waterford, Kerry South U15 going to Cork and Kerry South U16 making the trip to Limerick. It is important to support all teams on the day.

Heartiest congratulations to the Kerry Senior, Junior and Minor teams and managements on winning Munster title this week and particular congratulations to players from East Kerry/Region. Best of luck in the All Ireland series. Ciarra Ab.

DylanCrowley U11 Invitational Tournament

The Dylan Crowley U11 Invitational Tournament takes place in Gneeveguilla CLG pitches on Saturday next 8th July. All teams to be present at Gneeveguilla GAA at 9:30am please. The tournament rules are: Games to begin at 10 am; 10 minutes per half; 5 goal rule in place; Ties will be decided on head Vs head  firstly; then, if necessary, a 5 minute play off; finally if necessary Golden score. Rolling substitutes are allowed; Teams 11 a side. Panel up to 18; 1st place in each Division will qualify for Final; 2nd V 3rd to play in Semi Final. The league rounds are as follows: Division 1 –  All Games on Pitch 1 – 10am: Killarney Legion V Kilcummin, 10:30: Rathmore V Glenflesk, 11am: Glenflesk V Killarney Legion, 11:30: Kilcummin V Rathmore, 12noon :Glenflesk V Kilcummin, 12:30 :Killarney Legion V Rathmore. Division 2 All games on Pitch 3  – 10 am: Gneeveguilla V Dromtarriffe, 10:30:  Firies V Gneeveguilla , 11am: Spa V Firies , 11:30: Moyvane V Spa , 12 noon: Dromtarriffe V Moyvane. Division 2 All Games on Pitch 4- 10am: Moyvane V Firies, 10:30: Dromtarriffe V Spa, 11am: Gneeveguilla V Moyvane, 11:30: Firies V Dromtarriffe, 12noon: Spa V Gneeveguilla. Division 3  All Games on Pitch 2-m10am: Kilgarvan V Cordal, 10:30: Scartaglin V Currow, 11am: Currow V Kilgarvan, 11:30: Cordal V Scartaglin, 12noon: Currow V  Cordal, 12:30: Kilgarvan V Scartaglin. It is planned to have a parade of all Clubs and players after the league games and before the knockout stages, at 1pm approximately.  Complimentary refreshments will be available all day. A Chip/Burger Van will be present for anyone who wants to purchase food. It is also hoped to use Facebook Live at different parts of the day to broadcast some playing footage, parade, a few interviews with mentors etc on the Official Gneeveguilla GAA Facebook Page. If any clubs/parents have any concerns/issues with this, please contact Sean O Keeffe, Vice Chairman East Kerry Coiste na ng to ensure that footage of those teams is not used. The organisers wish to thank all for accepting the invitation to take part in the tournament and wishes everyone has an enjoyable day.

Best of luck in Round 3 of the County Senior Football Championship to the East Kery Senior team (on Saturday V St Brendans at 7.15pm) and to Killarney Legion (on Sunday V West Kerry at 2pm). Both games are in Austin Stack Park. Go n-ir an t-dh libh.
