After a great game of football in Austin Stack Park, where the East Kerry team were a credit to all, it was West Kerry who lifted the Sylvie Mason Memorial Cup, after a nail biting finish. Both teams showed wonderful skill, sportsmanship and determination. East Kerry came from behind to build up a six point lead, but West Kerry reduced the lead to the minimum with eight minutes remaining and drew level with three minutes remaining. A goal in the final minute of the game gave West Kerry the lead. To their credit, East Kerry pressed forward, seeking the equaliser, but the attack was cleared and the final whistle sounded shortly after. Congratulations to West Kerry on winning and commiserations to East Kerry. Beidh la eile agaibh.
