County Finals -Scor na bPaisti

Well done to all the East Kerry participants who represented their club and District so well in the County Finals of Scor na bPaisti in Foilmore last Sunday.

Congratulations to St Agatha’s Glenflesk CLG who retained the Healy O’Connor Shield for the best participation in the County in Scor over all age groups and through the course of the year.

Congratulations to Kilcummin on being placed first in Ceol Urlise, and achieving second place in Rince Foirne and Rince Seit. Congratuations to Gneeveguillas Sean O Keeffe on coming first in the Sean Nos dancing. Congratulations also to the Rathmore quiz team who came first in Tra na gCeist, which went to a tie breaker withTralee Parnells. Comhghardachas dibh go leir.

EXCITING FINALE TO SCOR QUIZ FINAL:In a pulsating tie-breaker, in Scoil Idirmhenach Chill Orglan on Sunday last, the primary school boys from Rathmore GAA Club pipped the Milltown/Castlemaine lads by the smallest of margins to win the Kerry Final of Scor na bPaisti. These scholars are merely following in the footsteps of the great Rathmore quiz team that has had many fine victories over the last 10 years, including Scor and ‘Seachtain na Gaolainne’ All-Irelands! Tralee Parnells, Kerry’s newest hurling club, were just a single ‘answer’ behind with a great score of 24 out of 30 correct answers! The future of Scor quiz teams looks bright agus ta an-chreidiuint ag dul dar mbunmhinteoir agus do thuismitheoiri diograiseacha! Kerry Football Bryan Sheehan presented the medals to the Scor winners on Sunday evening.

County Semi Finals – South Kerry

Best of luck on the County Finals on Sunday, 17th April 2016,in Foilmore (starting at 2pm) to participants from East Kerry clubs and to clubs from the broader East Region:Rince Foirne and Rince Seit Kilcummin; Sean Ns Tousist, Gneeveguilla; Ceol Uirlise- Kilcummin, Keel; Leiri- Firies ; Bailead Ghrupa- Glenflesk, Keel. Amhranaiocht Aonair Keel; Aithriseoireacht- Kenmare.

Best of luck also to Quiz teams from East Kerry/Region in the County Finals in ISK, (Killorglin), also on Sunday 7th April starting at 11am – note different venue for the Tra na gCeist
