The Brendan Cronin Perpetual Cup was presented to Glenflesk’s Stephen Moynihan

The Brendan Cronin Perpetual Cup is presented to the winners of the East Kerry Minor A Championship. Brendan Cronin, Quarry Cross, Gneeveguilla, was a driving force in setting up Gneeveguilla club in the 1960’s. He was treasurer on the founding executive of the club in 1960. Brendan also served East Kerry Distrct committee. He was a selector for the East Kerry Senior Team in the 1960’s and he suggested that Michael Gleeson (Spa) should be picked for the team. East Kerry went on to win the inaugural All Ireland Club Championship, the first year the competition was played. Brendan was also a long serving Delegate to East Kerry alongside Johnny Barry. Sadly, Brendan passed away at a the young age of 48 years, in 1983, leaving a young family. The stand in Gneeveguilla is named in his honour. It was officially opened in 1992. The ribbon was cut by Anne Cronin. Also present were Couny Board Secretary Tony O’Keeffe, Fr Michael O’Leary CC, Sheila Cronin, Michael Cronin, John Barry Club Secretary, John Cronin, John Kelly, Chairman East Kerry Board, John Murphy Club Chairman.

The Tim McGillicuddy Memorial Cup was presented to Fossa Captain Harry Kelly

The Tim Mc Gillicuddy Memorial Cup is presented annually to the winners of the East Kerry Minor B Championship title. Tim was a a fantastic Spa club man and a great trojonworker and member of the club. He was a skilled tradesman and he helped alot with the Spa buildings and would help with any work in the club. He played with the Junior team and then acted as a selector for many teams. He helped with anything, including fundraising being very involved in the runing of the the ‘600 club’ fundraiser). Sadly, Tim died suddenly in 1999, aged 42 years. Tims wife, Ann Mc Gillicuddy and family, Tiernaboul, presented the Tim Mc Gillicuddy Cup to the East Kerry Board, in October 2005, at a Board meeting, at the time that the East Kerry Minor Championship was expanded to include a second grade. Ger Galvin, a member of Spa club, was Secretary of East Kerry at that time. Legion CLG was the first club to win the Cup which was presented to their captain, David Murphy.
