2015 Colm Cooper Tournament & Garda Primary Schools Blitz

Presentation Monastery NS hosted the Colm Cooper 15 aside tournament in Dr Crokes club grounds last week. The format consisted of six primary school teams playing in two groups of three. Teams took part from Kerry and Cork primary schools with the standard excellent on the day. Teams battled hard to secure the title. St. Josephs NS Cork were crowned champions defeating a strong Chroist Ri NS team. Well done to all teams that took part on the day.

 

2015  Garda Primary School Blitz

Sixteen schools took part in the Garda Primary Schools Blitz last Thursday, 18th June 2015,  in Fitzgerald Stadium. In what was a very well run event, the format was seven aside with Kerry and Cork teams playing a round robin system to determine the overall winner. The standard of football was superb with all teams performing well. The semi finals were tight affairs with Presentation Monastery NS defeating a well coached Glenbeigh NS team in a great match, while Holy Family NS team defeated a gallant Fossa NS team in a tough battle. The final was a fitting end to proceedings with both schools battling hard to secure the title. In a great final match, played in a sporting manner, Holy Family NS Rathmore won the event, with a superb team effort, defeating a fantastic Presentation Monastery NS team. Well done to Eddie Walsh on organising the event. It was a great day.
